On August 11th we attended the private event “Snowbirds Fly for C.H.I.L.D’ that took place locally, in Victoria BC. My family and I attended this event in 2012 and thoroughly enjoyed it so we were very happy to have been invited again! During this event we got to watch the Snowbirds perform an aerial demonstration for us and afterwards meet the pilots, crew and take a closer look at the amazing jets they fly in.
The Snowbirds, for those of you who are not familiar, are a team of pilots and technicians who are serving members of the Canadian Armed Forces. They work together to bring stunning performances to people all over North America. Their shows are like works of art in the sky and we really do recommend going to see them perform if you have the chance! The Snowbirds are ambassadors to the C.H.I.L.D Foundation and support the foundation endlessly. Every year they travel across British Columbia performing aerial shows at the free family event in support of C.H.I.L.D.
During the event I was ‘interviewed’ by the camera man who works for the C.H.I.L.D Foundation, I shared my story with them and told them all the reasons why I support the Foundation, and why other people should too! The clip is apparently going to be used in any fitting media coverage for the C.H.I.L.D Foundation, I’m hoping we can get a hold of the footage so we can share it with everyone here.
Overall it was an amazing day! I am forever grateful for all the hard work the C.H.I.L.D Foundation does. They have brought so much awareness and attention to numerous intestinal and liver disorders that affect children of all ages. Their endless hard work since 1995 has raised over 27 million dollars! Without their research I know for sure we wouldn’t have the awareness or knowledge we have today regarding the disorders they support. My family and I have worked with them in the past, and will continue to do so. We are more than happy to support them in every way we can!
